Rusty is a gentle giant who loves people and is starting quite the fan club in his foster neighborhood. Who could resist with his gentle demeanor and handsome face? Rusty was saved with his friend, Jazz, from a neglect situation where they were starved and left outside in a small enclosure. He was skin and bones when we picked him up, but you know what? Rusty doesn't care about all that past stuff. He says life is meant to be enjoyed, and he is really having the time of his life with his foster family. Rusty loves being an inside dog with a soft bed and people that talk to him and good food and love and affection. He is house trained and is doing great practicing his basic obedience. He also walks well on a leash and is very friendly with people he meets along the way. He walks up to people to be petted and to introduce himself. Even though he is a little shy at first, Rusty says, "You gotta go meet new people and look for the good in everyone, even if it seems a little scary at first." He has not been tested around cats or young children, but his demeanor is very gentle so we don't believe either would be an issue for him. He is learning to enjoy a good bath once a week but he is still a little skittish about the hose. He is a wonderful, loving dog and every once in a while he and his friend Jazz like to play and romp like puppies.
