Clyde will bring lots of smiles to your family.  He truly is a sweet spirit.  I nicknamed him "the toddler" because dealing with him is like interacting with a two year old. He does not chew or destroy anything that he shouldn't chew. He will sneak climbing on the couch if left access to it. He can be stubborn at times.  He can be timid about new things. He will hide behind your legs when he is unsure of a situation.  He will sit on your feet and lean against you any chance he gets. He trusts anyone and everyone.  He loves to play, cuddle, and spend time with anyone.  He does not like to be alone.  He does not like to be locked outside. Your sliding glass door will be covered in drool with a pool of slobber at the bottom with in five minutes of it closing.  I leave it open when I let him out to take care of business.  He is house broken and can be trusted inside for at least 9 hours which is my usual work day.  He does not realize how big he is and loves to sit on your lap.  He loves to give kisses and roll on his back for belly rubs.

One of my favorite times with him is in the morning.  When he hears me wake up he starts whining and "talking", letting me know it is time for breakfast.  If I take too long, he starts what I refer to as the "lip quivers".  It sounds like he is saying "up, up, up, up, up, up." He will talk to me until I put his food in his bowl and feed him. If you talk to him like a dog, he sticks his bottom lip out and talks back. You will need to change his water frequently because he slimes it every time he drinks.

He is very sensitive. He does not like to be scolded.  He will lay down and sulk.  He gives the saddest eyes to let you know his feelings are hurt.  He does not like to be rough housed with or yelled at.  He does not like the swimming pool but will play in the sprinklers.  He is prone to ear infections so this is not a good idea.

His favorite toy is a nylon chew bone or tennis ball.  You can't see the tennis ball when he chews it.  He chews it until it pops.  I take them away when that happens because if he keeps chewing them he gets all the little pieces all over the floor and I worry about him swallowing them.  Beware, it causes him to drool and foam even more. He likes to play tug of war with my other dog.  When he is losing he will have what I refer to as a "faux-hawk." The hair rises on his back from his head to his tail. He is harmless and usually sulks for a few minutes.

I keep hand towels all over the house to intercept his drooling.  I have a lint brush for house guests and I have found that magic erasers are the best way to remove "Clyde marks" from the walls and ceiling.

He loves walks but needs water breaks.  He loves car rides but beware, he will rest his head on your shoulder while you are driving. He will bring you endless hours of entertainment and joy.
