Meet Check. He is a big, lovable hunka burnin love! Check came to us as an owner surrender. He lived with children ages 4 years old and up, and he would be a perfect gentleman with young children. Check loves showing everyone how well he walks on his leash, and he knows basic commands so well he can do them in his sleep. Check's pictures do not do him justice at all. He is so sweet and really wants a home where he can be part of a forever family. He is a little scared right now and asks that you give him a minute or two to warm up. You would be a little nervous too if you were crashing at a strange place while waiting to meet a family all your own. Once you meet Check, your heart will melt! Check is house trained and is a real dream in the home.
Check's former owners had 2 male English mastiffs and fed them both close together. Because he was worried someone would try to take eat his breakfast and dinner, Check developed a habit of eating his food very fast if he is eating close to another dog. Once he woofed down his food, he tried to mosey over to the other dog dish and eat his as well. His brother wasn't too thrilled about having someone eat his food, so Check finds himself looking for a new home. Needless to say, Check's reaction when eating is a common and avoidable problem. Check is great with other dogs and needs a home with a female large breed dog. Check would also like to eat in his own room or area so that he can slow down, enjoy his meals, and feel better after eating...and so he won't try to eat everyone's dinner in addition to his own.
