Lucio
Lucio was pulled from a Los Angeles shelter by one of our dedicated volunteers. We knew that he was an older neo and not doing well as reported by the shelter, but our volunteer knew that she just couldn’t let him die in there. She had to get him out even if was only for a short time, so that he would know love before he died. As always when we get a dog out and find out they’re not well, we always hope we’ll find a way to help them, maybe what ever is wrong can fixed and they’ll be fine. But unfortunately for Lucio his previous owner probably knew what was wrong with him when they surrendered him to the shelter. They knew he had a spinal problem that was never treated. They probably knew, but didn’t have the courage to do the right thing by Lucio, so they cowardly left him at the shelter. We took him to a veterinarian and confirmed what we were afraid of, that he couldn’t be helped, it was too late for Lucio. The spinal cord trauma was too great; all we could offer him now was pain relief, love, and a soft bed for a few days. Our volunteer only had Lucio for a couple of short weeks, but fell in love with this sweet, dignified dog. She had made the very difficult decision to let him go...holding him in her arms, while she told him she loved him. We will miss you Lucio. Rest well, sweet boy.

Liberty Dodger
There were so many people who helped Brian and I save Liberty Dodgers' life, and I thought I better let these people know that this month --the strongest Bordeaux I have ever had the privilege of loving-- has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. When Dodger came to us, the vets never gave him a chance to live through the first week; he weighed 62 lbs, had no hair, and had lost so much blood. When our baby boy passed on, he weighed 155 and had grown all his hair back. Thank you to all who made Dodger so much part of their lives. He will be missed so very much. I have attached Dodgers 1st day and his Rainbow picture.
